Perfect Block ICCF Fire Rebuilds

Natural Disaster Resistance

The inspiring resilience of fire-rebuild communities motivates us to partner with your community and create a vibrant and enjoyable place to live for generations to come.

Perfect Block ICCF (Insulated Concrete Composite Forms) is an energy-efficient, durable, sustainable, cost-effective, healthy, and versatile building material used to design and construct buildings.

ICCF is a concrete formwork of interlocking blocks that consist of two layers of expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation reinforced with steel and filled with concrete. Perfect Block combines the strength and durability of concrete with the insulation and energy efficiency of foam.

Block forms are stacked to create walls for residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and government uses.

Perfect Block provides numerous advantages in natural disaster resistance, environmental attributes, sustainability, air quality, sound attenuation, and affordability.

Natural Disaster Resistance

●  ICCF resists damage caused by natural disasters such as wildfires, hurricanes, tornados, earthquakes, floods, and ultraviolet light. It is resistant to mold, termites, and rodents. These properties ensure the safety and longevity of a building and its inhabitants.

●  Perfect Block ICCF reduces vandalism, waste, deformation, toxic fumes, smoke, and other emissions associated with demolition and construction. Our Block protects the health and safety of building occupants and emergency first responders from natural disasters.

Environmental Attributes

●  All EPS in Perfect Block ICCF Forms is from one hundred percent recycled content destined for landfills.

●  Our ten-inch asymmetric Block has an insulation R-value of thirty-two. Perfect Block yields high thermal resistance, high thermal mass, and low thermal conductivity.

●  Perfect Block ICCF reduces building heating and cooling loads, lowering occupants’ energy costs by up to fifty percent.

●  ICCF Block is recycled at the end of its life cycle by crushing and reusing the EPS for aggregate and fill material.

Sustainability

●  Concrete and cement are among the most carbon-intensive materials in construction because they require substantial energy to produce and emit large amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2).  According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the buildings and construction sector accounts for thirty-six percent of worldwide energy use and forty percent of CO2 emissions globally. ICCF reduces the worldwide carbon footprint and increases renewable energy capacity.

●  Perfect Block ICCF uses less concrete and cement than conventional concrete forms because the insulation layers provide structural support and reduce the need for reinforcement. Our process saves up to forty percent of concrete and toxic emissions.

Air Quality

●      According to ICF Builder Magazine, ICCF has an air infiltration rate of less than 0.5 ACH (Air Changes per Hour). This is much lower than the average ACH for conventional buildings. As a result, ICCF buildings have less dust and allergens, resulting in improved health and well-being of building occupants.

●      Perfect Block ICCF’s tight building envelope prevents moisture accumulation. Less moisture improves indoor air quality by reducing the risk of mold, mildew, insects, and pests that cause health problems.

●      ICCF has no volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or formaldehyde that can emit toxic gasses.

Sound Attenuation

● Sound Transmission Class (STC) measures the ability of a material to block sound waves. The higher the Sound Transmission Class rating, the better the sound insulation. ICCF has an STC that is much higher than the average rating for wood-frame or brick buildings.  Consequently, Perfect Block buildings have less noise pollution between rooms and outside sources such as neighbors, automobiles, trains, and airplanes.

Affordability

● Our product requires less maintenance and repairs than conventional construction methods, saving property owners time and money. For example, Perfect Block ICCF can reduce the construction costs of a building by between ten and twenty percent because ICCF requires less labor, materials, equipment, and time than traditional construction methods. ICCF Block eliminates the need for additional insulation, vapor barriers, air barriers, and sheathing materials.

●  Perfect Block ICCF increases the resale value of a building due to lower construction costs and superior longevity.

Conclusion

Perfect Block ICCF offers a compelling solution to wildfire-prone areas due to its superior natural disaster resistance, environmental attributes, sustainability, air quality, sound attenuation, and affordability.
